First Impression

Hi,

My names Kirk I am 22 years old and live in the United Kingdom. I have been programming as a hobby for about 5 - 6 years using all different kinds of languages, none that I have truely felt at home with. I hope that Script Basic turns out to be for me, after reading through some of the documentation it appears the language is very appealing.

Ideally I would like to contribute somewhat to the project either by writing documentation or extending upon the extentions avaliable. What is confusing is that Googling "Script Basic", the top two results are scriptbasic.com and scriptbasic.org as far as I can tell scriptbasic.org is a direct link to the forums while scriptbasic.com seems like an out dated homepage. I think Script Basic would attract alot more people with a new website and wiki for documentation.

If anyone can provide me with any information on the best approach to getting started with Script Basic that would be great.

Thanks for reading,

Kirk.

Welcome Kirk,

On the forum menu bar you will find the button for the documentation wiki.

The documentation is generated from comments in the source. Examples and module testing are other areas the project needs help with.

Let us know what your preference is and I'll do my best to get you headed in the right direction.

John

Hi John,

Thank you for pointing out the wiki link. I have just ran my first "Hello World" application in ScriptBasic.

I could assist with module testing as that would be a great opportunity for me to learn the language.

Kirk.
